Igor Voloshin
A film director, movie and stage actor, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, artist, and creator
of independent cinema, Igor Voloshin was born and raised in Sevastopol. He graduated from the
Yaroslavl State Theatre Institute in 1998 and from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography
in 2000. His debut documentary film «Bitch» was awarded best debut at Amsterdam’s
International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA). He went on to make feature films including
«Nirvana», «I Am», «Bedouin», «The Cellar», «The
Curse of Medea», and others. Voloshin has been a participant and jury member at A-list film
festivals including Berlinale, Karlovy Vary, Busan, and AFI (USA). He is the creator of cult
Russian TV series «Olga», «Gym Coach», and others. He has received awards from
Kinotavr, the Association of Film and Television Producers of Russia (APKiT), and the Russian
Television Academy (TEFI).
